Course Objectives:

• Demonstrate knowledge and principles to be a competent electroencephalograph (EEG) technologist in a variety of healthcare facilities.
• Understand the fundamental of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology necessary for working in the diverse field of neurodiagnostics.
• Understand the theoretical and practical understanding of EEG recording.
• Understand the origin of EEG activity, how to obtain interpretable EEG data, and give descriptive terms of the EEG activity.
• Understand the basis of EEG activity and correlations with neurological disorders and other disease processes.
• Understand the international 10-20 system and practical measurement of the human skull using the system.
• Demonstrate competency in setting up, application of EEG leads, and recording suitable for interpretation by an EEG reader.
• Applicants should be able to acquire the relevant knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform the job description of an EEG technologist.

Course Eligibility:

Doctors, Practicing or aspiring EEG Technologist, Physiologist (Neurophysiology), other Basic Medical Science Graduates, and relevant allied health professionals can apply.

Computer proficiency is required.
